Sobre la Conferencia / About the Conference

El Consejo Latinoamericano de Investigación por la Paz (CLAIP) y el departamento de Relaciones Internacionales de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) invitan a docentes, investigadores/ as, estudiantes y activistas a presentar propuestas de ponencias, paneles y/o talleres para el Primer Congreso Regional sobre "América Latina buscando el camino hacia una Paz Sostenible. Herramientas y aportes" que se realizará en la ciudad de Lima del 17 al 19 de setiembre del 2009.


Las propuestas podrán estar basadas en reflexiones teóricas o investigaciones empíricas y podrán ser elaboradas desde cualquier perspectiva disciplinaria. El objetivo de esta conferencia es el de reunir a investigadores/ as y activistas que trabajen por la paz sobre o en Latino América para compartir y aprender de sus investigaciones y de las experiencias que estén realizando.

Las líneas temáticas prioritarias (mas no excluyentes) para el desarrollo de este congreso son:

1. Desarme, no proliferación y conflictos armados.
2. Educación por y para la paz.
3. Migración y trata de personas.
4. Violencia política y el rol de las comisiones de la verdad.
5. Reconocimiento social de los excluidos.
6. Alternativas a la violencia y espacios de acción por la paz.
7. Gobernabilidad y democracia.

Se dará prioridad a aquellas propuestas que manejen ejes transversales de equidad.

Las propuestas no deberán ser superiores a 500 palabras y deberán incluir nombre, afiliación institucional y forma de contacto y podrán ser presentadas en castellano, quechua, portugués e ingles.

• Envío de propuestas: 15 de mayo del 2009
• Notificación de aceptación de propuestas: 15 de junio del 2009
• Envío de ponencia completa: 25 de agosto del 2009

The Latin American Center for Peace Research (CLAIP) and the Department of International Relations of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUPC) call for applications for its First Regional Congress entitled "Latin America: In Search of a Path Towards a Sustainable Peace. Tools and Contributions". The congress will be held in the city of Lima from September 17th to 19th of 2009.

CLAIP encourages educators, researchers, students and activists to submit proposals for papers, panels and/or workshops. The proposal should be based on theoretical works or empiric investigations from any disciplinary perspective. The aim of this conference is to gather researchers and activists who work for peace about or in Latin America to share and learn from their research and experience.

The priority topics for this congress are (not excluding other topics):

1. Disarmament, no Proliferation and Armed Conflicts.
2. Education For and About Peace.
3. Migration and Human Trafficking.
4. Political Violence and the Role of Truth Commissions.
5. Social Recognition of Excluded People.
6. Alternatives to Violence and Spaces for Peaceful Actions.
7. Governability and Democracy.

Priority will be given to proposals that will take into account social equality components, such as gender.

Notification of acceptance will be sent by June 15th 2009.

Complete paper by August 25th 2009.
